With the exception of a few isolated incidents, the 2013 Stanley Cup playoffs have been amazing.
NHL playoffs schedule: Blackhawks, Senators on verge of series win
The Chicago Blackhawks and Ottawa Senators are one win away from advancing to the semifinal round of the playoffs. The Pittsburgh Penguins attempt to fight off the agressive attack of the New York Islanders.
That was continued on Wednesday night when all four games on the schedule were decided by a single goal, with three of the contests requiring overtime.
In the opening game of the night, the Boston Bruins established a 3-1 series lead over the Toronto Maple Leafs thanks to a David Krejci hat trick. With the game tied at three in the extra frame, Krejci scored the golden goal to push Toronto to the brink of elimination.
In New York, the Rangers knotted their series with the Washington Capitals at two games a piece with a two-goal third period. After scoring only a single goal in the first two games, the Rangers have tallied four goals in consecutive games as the series returns to Washington for Game 5.
The Anaheim Ducks reestablished their lead against the Detroit Red Wings thanks to the game-winning goal by Nick Bonino in Game 5. The Ducks carry a 3-2 series lead back to Detroit for Game 6 on Friday night.
In St. Louis, the Los Angeles Kings recorded the first road victory of their series with the Blues after Slava Voynov recorded his second game-winning goal of the series. The defending Stanley Cup champions return home with a 3-2 series lead.
With the San Jose Sharks acting as the only team to advance to the semifinal round, two more teams will have a chance to punch their ticket on Thursday night.
