Adam Burish injury: Sharks forward out for Western Conference Semifinals

Adam Burish will not be available for the Western Conference Semifinals.

Christian Petersen

San Jose Sharks forward Adam Burish will miss the entirety of the Western Conference Semifinal round due to an upper-body injury, according to multiple reports on Thursday afternoon.

The injury apparently happened in Game 4 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals against the Vancouver Canucks. San Jose ultimately went on to win the game in overtime.

It remains unclear how or when Burish sustained the injury.

However, he registered 9:15 of ice time over 11 shifts and did not make an appearance after the 15:54 mark of the second period. Presumably, the injury occurred sometime around that point of the game.

Through four playoff games, Burish averaged 10:27 of ice time over 15.8 shifts and had attempted five shots. It remains to be seen who will take his place in the lineup.

The Sharks are the only team to advance to the semifinal round of the 2013 playoffs so far. Their opponent has yet to be determined.
