Bruins vs. Blackhawks Game 1 update: Boston dominates 1st OT

The Bruins had a number of great chances to win the game in the first overtime, but Corey Crawford stood strong and denied them time and time again.

Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Boston Bruins and Chicago Blackhawks will be decided in multiple overtimes, as neither team was able to break the 3-3 tie in the first extra period.

The Bruins had a chance to win it early in overtime, but their fourth line couldn't beat Corey Crawford:

Boston had the edge in play throughout the first half of overtime, and they were handed a golden opportunity when Chicago took a penalty for too many men on the ice at 12:08 of the period.

The Bruins’ power play generated intense pressure down low in front of Crawford, but after a mad scramble the puck just wouldn’t go in the net:

The Blackhawks led in shots, 47-37, at the end of the first overtime.
