Del Zotto is expected to require four weeks of recovery time. This is the second time that Del Zotto has required surgery to fix a sports hernia, as he underwent the procedure in May of 2011.

Del Zotto played in 46 regular season games in 2013 and registered 21 points (three goals, 18 assists). In addition, the 22-year-old averaged 23:10 of ice-time, which included time on the penalty kill (1:34) and power play (2:54) units. He will be entering the final year of a two-year, $5.1 million contract in 2013-14 and will be a restricted free agent next summer.
