Horton originally injured himself in a fight against Pittsburgh Penguins forward Jarome Iginla during a regular season contest on April 20. Horton left the game after the fight. He also missed the final five games of the regular season prior to returning for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinal.

Horton appeared to injure the area again during the first overtime period of Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final on Wednesday night. WEEI reports that his shoulder popped out of place while battling for position in front of the net on an offensive zone attack. This has apparently occurred several times throughout the postseason, but Wednesday night’s was the most painful yet.

Horton will likely undergo a procedure at the end of the season to tighten his shoulder socket to keep it from popping out in the future. His status for Game 2 has yet to be determined as of Friday afternoon.
