A scoreless third period means the Blackhawks and Bruins are tied 1-1 after regulation and will decide Game 2 in overtime.
Blackhawks vs. Bruins Game 2 update: Heading to overtime in Chicago
Both teams played it safe in a scoreless third period.

Either the two teams decided to play cautiously on purpose or they’re just plain exhausted, because this was by far the least entertaining period of the Cup Final so far. In fact, the game has slowed down quite a bit since the opening period. After Chicago outshot the Bruins 19-4 in the first period, neither squad has reached double-digits in shots in the final two periods.
They've both clearly settled into waiting for the other team to make a mistake, which very nearly happened when Tyler Seguin got all up in Corey Crawford's personal space.
The action ramped up a bit in the closing minutes of the third, and Corey Crawford seemed a bit stunned by this shot in the final minute.
This is the second consecutive overtime game in the series, so expect some sluggish skating from here on out.
