Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews confirmed he will be available against the Boston Bruins for game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final on Monday night.
Stanley Cup Final 2013: Jonathan Toews confirms he will play in Game 6
The Blackhawks’ captain stated he will be playing in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final on Monday night.
Toews sustained an upper-body injury during Game 5 on Saturday night. While the injury remained unidentified, many have assumed that he sustained a concussion. However, head coach Joel Quenneville indicated on Sunday that he expected Toews to be available for Monday night.
The captain was able to participate in morning skate on Monday and took rushes with Bryan Bickell and Patrick Kane. By his admission, the skate was one of his best of the series. Considering the Blackhawks are one win away from winning the Stanley Cup, it's not surprising that he would make such a statement.
Toews will play: "I feel great. No questions about where I am physically." #Blackhawks #Bruins
