Daniel Alfredsson to return for 2013-14 season, according to report
According to a foreign report, Daniel Alfredsson has decided to play in the 2013-14 season.

Lehmann quotes Alfredsson as saying he needed time to determine if he had the drive and motivation to prepare for another full season in the NHL. That process required his ability to properly train this summer, which he believes he is ready to do.
"I needed a few weeks to see if the necessary urge for summertraining and precamp was there. And it is", Daniel Alfredsson. #nhl #sens

Alfredsson has previously indicated that the offseason commitment was a huge component to his decision to return to the league. In addition, he expressed a desire to spend more time with his family. The 40-year-old forward stated that participation in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi was not a driving factor in his return. However, he would like to be a member of the team.
Ottawa Senators manager Bryan Murray stated that he has not yet officially heard from Alfredsson, according to Pierre Lebrun of ESPN.
The Senators and Alfredsson will need to come to terms on a contract as he will become an unrestricted free agent on July 5. This is seemingly a formality as he has spent the entirety of his career with the club.
