Braydon Coburn trade rumors: Flyers fielding calls, according to report
Braydon Coburn is reportedly available on the NHL trade market. The Carolina Hurricanes and Edmonton Oilers have been mentioned as possible teams of interest.

Dreger is reporting that Philadelphia manager Paul Holmgren is fielding calls about the availability of the 28-year-old defenseman, according to a rival general manager. Coburn is entering the second-year of a four-year, $18 million contract that carries an annual average value of $4.5 million.
Dreger said the Carolina Hurricanes and Edmonton Oilers are both teams that likely have interest in the 6'5 defenseman. It makes sense, too, because Carolina manager Jim Rutherford has expressed interest in a top-four defenseman and Coburn certainly would fit the bill.
In the event that the Flyers move Coburn, it would mark the second-consecutive season that the club decided not to retain the defenseman who logged the most average ice-time on the club. Last season, the Flyers were unable to sign Matt Carle to an extension after he led the team with 23 minutes of average ice-time a night. Coburn led Flyers defenders with an average ice-time of 22:36 this past season.
