2013 NHL Draft: Islanders select Ryan Pulock with No. 15 pick

The New York Islanders decided to bring Ryan Pulock to the team with the N0. 15 overall selection in the 2013 NHL Draft.

With the No. 15 pick of the 2013 NHL Draft, the New York Islanders select defenseman Ryan Pulock from Brandon of the WHL.

At 6'1", 211 pounds, Pulock is yet another of the big crop of defenseman that pervades this draft class. Clearly a blueliner with some offensive flare, Pulock has put up 105 points in his last two season with the Wheat Kings. His season, offensively, was not as good as last year's with a team that didn't make the playoffs (and he also missed 10 games), but he still put up 45 points in 61 contests in 2012-13.

The Grandview, Manitoba native is ranked No. 14 by ISS among all skaters. TSN analyst Craig Button ranks him No. 30 among all prospects, and NHL Central Scouting has him rated No. 12 among North American skaters. ISS projects him to be a player comparable to Dan Boyle.
