2013 NHL Draft: Jets select Joshua Morrissey with No. 13 pick

The Winnipeg Jets select Josh Morrissey at No. 13.

With the No. 13 pick of the 2013 NHL Draft, the Winnipeg Jets select defenseman Joshua Morrissey from Prince Albert of the WHL.

The Calgary, Alberta native has spent three seasons with the Raiders of the Western League, and seen his point total go up (0 to 38 to 47) each season. Morrissey, as 6’1”, 198 pounds, is surprisingly one of the smaller defensemen in this season’s large defensive crop.

ISS has Morrissey ranked No. 21 among all skaters in this year’s draft. Craig Button of TSN has him rated No. 15 among all prospects, while the NHL’s Central Scouting Bureau has him rated No. 27 among North American skaters, though he was ranked as high as No. 11 at season’s midpoint.
