NHL Draft rumors: Hurricanes have offers for No. 5 pick

The Hurricanes have at least two offers for the No. 5 pick as they continue to shop the selection.

The Carolina Hurricanes have been shopping the No. 5 pick in the NHL Draft and according to Darren Dreger, they have two firm offers from teams for the selection. Dreger is also reporting that they are talking with a third team about a trade for the selection as the Hurricanes look to bring in a big haul for the draft pick.

With so many teams in the mix to trade up for No. 5, the Hurricanes will likely wait until just before the selection comes up to pull the trigger on a deal. With Seth Jones plummeting down draft boards and possibly available at No. 5, the Hurricanes can wait to see if he is there and drum up even more interest in the pick.

With nobody in the top four shopping their picks, Carolina is in an enviable place. Anyone who wants to trade up into the top five has to make a deal with the Hurricanes so the offers are piling up and Carolina can use it to find a monster package for the pick.
