The physical play intensified in the third period, beginning with this early knee/slash combo from Brad Marchand and Chris Kunitz.

The Penguins were dominant in the third despite taking multiple penalties, and outshot the Bruins, 14-4, in the final frame. Regulation time ended with the Penguins leading in shots, 39-25. Both goalies were solid throughout the first three periods, with Tuukka Rask making some game-saving stops in key moments to keep the game tied.

The Bruins will have to try to win in overtime while down a player. The team announced that Gregory Campbell wouldn't return after suffering a lower-body injury blocking a shot from Evgeni Malkin in the second period.
