The New Jersey Devils have come to terms on a three-year, $9.3 million contract extension with forward Dainius Zubrus, the forward confirmed on Monday morning.

Dainius Zubrus confirmed the contractual terms of his extension with the New Jersey Devils.


The 35-year-old forward completed the final year of a six-year, $20.4 million contract that carried an annual average value of $3.4 million against the salary cap. He was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. Reports broke last week that the two sides had agreed in principle to a three-year extension, according to Tom Guilitti of The Bergen Record.
Zubrus confirmed the terms of the agreement, which will carry an annual average value of $3.1 million against the salary cap until the completion of the 2015-16 season.
In 1,087 career regular season games, Zubrus has accumulated a total of 548 points (208 goals and 340 assists). Having compiled nine points (two goals and seven assists) in 22 games in 2013, Zubrus also averaged 16:47 of ice time including time on the penalty kill (1:46) and power play (1:05).
