NHL free agency: Justin Falk agrees to contract extension with Rangers
The New York Rangers have come to terms with another restricted free agent on Wednesday, as the club agreed to a one-year deal with Justin Falk.

The Rangers acquired Falk via trade with the Minnesota Wild on the day of the 2013 NHL Draft. In exchange for Falk, New York sent a sixth-round draft selection in 2014 and the negotiating rights of unrestricted free agent forward Benn Ferriero to Minnesota.
Falk completed a one-year, $825,000 contract in 2013, according to CapGeek.com. In 36 regular season games with the Wild, Falk registered three assists, 40 penalty minutes and averaged 13:13 of ice time per game. Originally chosen with the No. 110 overall selection in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft by Minnesota, Falk has participated in 108 career regular-season games and has accumulated 15 points (one goal, 14 assists) and 100 penalty minutes while averaging 15:59 of ice time.
This marks the second restricted free agent signed by the Rangers on Wednesday, as Carl Hagelin also agreed to a contract extension.
