Pending unrestricted free agent forward Danny Briere reportedly has plenty of interest in his services. Fifteen teams are believed to have interest in the 35-year-old, according to Pierre LeBrun of ESPN.

Pending unrestricted free agent forward Danny Briere has several offers from NHL clubs that he is sorting through.

LeBrun wrote on Tuesday afternoon that he has been in contact with Briere and that the forward is likely to narrow his suitors by Wednesday afternoon. Briere was extended a compliance buyout by the Philadelphia Flyers this summer in an effort to limit salary cap obligations. He will be eligible to sign with any team of his choosing (with the exception of Philadelphia) at the start of free agency on Friday afternoon.
Briere's former team, the Buffalo Sabres, have interest in bringing him back into the fold. Sabres general manager Darcy Regier stated on Tuesday that he plans to speak with Briere in hopes of adding some scoring to his roster. In addition, the New York Islanders are believed to have interest, according to Katie Strang of ESPN. In addition, Nashville Predators general manager David Poile also stated his team is interested in the forward.
It remains unclear whether Briere shares this interest.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the extent of Briere’s situation has yet to fully develop. With the exception of indicating that he hopes to remain near the Philadelphia area for the sake of his children and that he hopes to play two more years in the NHL, his desires in a new club have yet to materialize.
The only constant of this scenario is that teams are interested in his services and that he will have options to continue his career.
