Unrestricted free agent forward Jaromir Jagr has agreed to terms on a contract with the New Jersey Devils, the team announced on Tuesday.

Jaromir Jagr has decided to return to the NHL for another season as he has come to terms on a contract with the New Jersey Devils.

Jagr will receive a base salary of $2 million with $2 million in a games played bonus, according to Chris Johnston of Sportsnet. In total, Jagr will carry an annual average value of $4 million against the 2013-14 salary cap. Pierre LeBrun of ESPN reported on Monday that the two sides had come to terms on a one-year contract agreement.
The 41-year-old is returning to the NHL for a third consecutive season after an extended hiatus that began following the 2007-08 season. Having played for three teams in two seasons, Jagr played a role in the Boston Bruins returning to the Stanley Cup Final for the second time in three seasons.
Although he was unable to register a goal during the team's 22-game playoff run, Jagr acted as the complementary winger to Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron on one of the Bruins' top lines. Despite his lack of production in the goal column, Jagr displayed his ability to drive possession, which was a beneficial skill set at even strength and on the power play.
In terms of the man advantage, Jagr averaged 2:45 on the power play during the playoffs, which was the second-highest average on the Bruins. In addition, he averaged the fifth-most total ice time minutes among forwards on the team (17:55).
Over the course of 45 regular season games played with the Bruins and Dallas Stars in 2013, Jagr registered 35 points (16 goals and 19 assists) and recorded 18:19 of average ice time per game.
