The Chicago Blackhawks have come to terms on a contract extension with manager Stan Bowman, the team announced on Wednesday morning. Bowman's extension will go through the 2017-18 season.

After handing out a pair of extensions last week, Blackhawks manager Stan Bowman received an extension of his own.

Bowman was named vice president and manager in 2009 and has overseen two Stanley Cup championships since his appointment. Originally hired by the organization in 2000 as a special assistant to the general manager, Bowman has also acted as the director of hockey operations and assistant general manager before being promoted to his current position.
“Stan has been an integral part of our organizational success and we are proud to reward him with a well-deserved extension,” said Blackhawks President and CEO John McDonough said via press release. “From the amateur levels to our team in Chicago, Stan has a great system in place as we all strive for consistent excellence throughout the organization.”
The Blackhawks have registered 177 regular season wins and 37 postseason victories since Bowman took over as manager.
