Alex Ovechkin scores from nearly impossible angle

Not many players can score from this angle. But Alex Ovechkin can.

Alex Ovechkin continued to lap the field on Tuesday night when it comes to the NHL's goal scoring race by scoring his league-leading 33rd goal of the season (nobody else has more than 25), and it was a filthy one.

Positioned on the outside of the face-off circle and below the face-off dot, Ovechkin ripped a one-timer from a nearly impossible angle that somehow picked the corner over Antti Niemi’s shoulder.

Shots from that location just aren’t supposed to go in. But that’s what makes Ovechkin one of the best. With that goal he still finds himself on a pace to score more than 60 this season.
