Mike Weber hits Marcus Johansson away from play

This is more than interference, it’s just simply a dumb play.

Buffalo Sabres defenseman Mike Weber was penalized for interfering with Capitals forward Marcus Johansson early in the second period on Tuesday night.

Interference, as it turns out, may have been an understatement as you see just how far away from the puck Johansson was when Weber stepped into him.

You can’t do that.

The Capitals did not capitalize on the ensuing power play, but did take a 4-3 lead into the second intermission.
