John Scott penalized for throwing puck into the net

John Scott doesn’t put the puck in the net very often, so maybe he’s just not sure how to do it.

A couple of weeks ago John Scott scored a goal for the Buffalo Sabres. That was kind of a big deal because John Scott doesn't really score goals -- ever -- and it was just the second time in his NHL career a puck went into the net off of his stick.

Well, in the first period on Thursday night following a pile up in front of the net, Scott put the puck in the net a different way - by throwing it in after the whistle.

Nice try, good sir, but that’s not going to work. And for his post-whistle efforts he earned himself a two-minute minor for unsportsmanlike conduct because, well, you just can’t do that.

Of the 373 penalty minutes Scott has tallied in the NHL those are probably two of the lamest.
