How to watch Saturday’s full NHL schedule online, game times, preview and TV coverage

All 30 NHL teams are in action on the first Saturday of the new season.

John E. Sokolowski-USA TODAY Sports

It’s the first Saturday of the 2014-15 NHL season, and as Saturday’s go in the league, it’s a busy one. All 30 teams are in action, and with no afternoon games being played this early in the season, that means every NHL team will be on the ice between 7 p.m. ET and 1:30 a.m. ET.

That’s a recipe for a lot of craziness and a lot of worn out remotes.

In Canada, it's the first full glimpse of a Hockey Night in Canada under the Rogers regime. Two games will be broadcast on CBC, but in total eight of the 15 games on Saturday's schedule will be on national TV in some form north of the border. In the United States, just one game will be on national TV as NHL Network will simulcast of CBC's coverage for the Penguins vs. Maple Leafs game at Air Canada Centre.

Minnesota and Colorado play their second head-to-head game of 2014-15 at Pepsi Center. Minnesota destroyed the Avs, 5-0, in a game that wasn’t even close at Xcel Energy Center on Thursday night, so this will be one to watch.

Elsewhere, Rick Nash returns to Columbus with the Rangers at 7 p.m. ET, Montreal visits Philadelphia for their third straight road game of the young season, while Los Angeles is in the desert for a game against the Coyotes at 9 p.m. ET. The Kings are looking for their first win of the season after a less-than-impressive showing on their Cup banner night Wednesday.

The Oilers are in Vancouver to take on the Canucks in the CBC night cap, while Winnipeg and San Jose also close things out with a 10 p.m. ET puck drop.

All games below will be available on NHL Center Ice or NHL GameCenter Live in the United States aside from the Pittsburgh vs. Toronto contest, which can be seen nationwide on NHL Network.
