Jason Pominville whiffs on shot in front of wide open net

Jason Pominville seemed to be ready to score an easy goal for the Minnesota Wild on Friday night. And then he forgot the puck.

Jason Pominville has a pretty impressive track record as a goal-scorer in the NHL, scoring at least 20 goals in seven of the past eight seasons, including three 30-goal seasons. The only season he didn't reach the 20-goal mark was the lockout shortened 2012-13 season where he scored 14 goals in 47 games. So he knows how to put the puck in the net.

But sometimes even the best guys have their moments where something just doesn't click the way it's supposed to. Pominville had one of those moments in the second period against the Anaheim Ducks on Friday when he pulled a Charlie Conway with an empty net directly in front of him.
