Kevin Klein completes Rangers comeback with overtime goal

Kevin Klein was the unlikely hero for the Rangers, who stormed back for a 4-3 overtime win against the New Jersey Devils.

Usually when the New Jersey Devils are fortunate enough to have a two-goal lead on a team in the third period, they are able to shut the game down, suck the life out of it offensively, and walk away with their two points in the standings.

It did not happen against their arch-rivals on Tuesday.

The Devils allowed the New York Rangers to storm back for a 4-3 overtime win, surrendering two goals in the final 11 minutes of regulation to force overtime where Kevin Klein scored his first goal of the season to get the win for the Rangers.

Chris Mueller started the comeback for New York with a power play goal, and then Rick Nash continued his ridiculous hot streak to tie the game with what was already his league-leading eighth goal of the season.

The fact that Klein ended up scoring the winner was more than a little surprising since goal-scoring is not something he is typically known for. He scored just two goals in 77 games last season for the Nashville Predators and Rangers and Tuesday's goal was only the 18th of his career. It was his third career game-winning goal.
