Scottie Upshall returns to game after brutal hit to head by Radko Gudas
Florida Panthers forward Scottie Upshall had to be helped off the ice in the second period of the team's season opener against Tampa Bay on Thursday night after he was on the receiving end of a vicious hit to the head from Radko Gudas. After sitting out a few shifts, Upshall would eventually return to the game.
Amazingly, there was no penalty called on the play, but there is a good chance that Stephane Quintal, the NHL’s new disciplinary czar, might want to hand a penalty of his own.
These two players have a bit of a history going back to last season, when Upshall squirted Gudas with water from the bench.
