Dale Weise scores thanks to Kevin Shattenkirk’s brain fart

More brutal turnovers leading to goals. Break out “Yakety Sax.”

Sensing a theme here tonight: Turnovers lead to goals.

Here you see St. Louis Blues defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk passing the puck directly to Montreal Canadiens forward Dale Weise to set him up for a virtual empty net goal.

Shattenkirk sees his team trying to get it going up the ice, but Weise was shadowing him as forwards are wont to do when the defenseman holds the puck behind his own net. Only difference this time was Weise had enough hand-eye coordination to knock it down, tee it up, and rip it by Jake Allen.

Making matters worse for Shattenkirk? He knocked Allen down accidentally rushing to the front of the net to try and block the shot.
