Johnny Boychuk commits knee-on-knee hit on Evgeni Malkin

Malkin was unhurt after what looked like a dangerous play.

Pittsburgh Penguins fans have to be breathing a sigh of relief right now knowing Evgeni Malkin finished the game on Friday skating around with no issues. After Malkin took a vicious knee-on-knee hit from New York Islanders defenseman Johnny Boychuk, you had to wonder just how badly the Penguins center was injured.

As it turns out, Malkin just needed to catch his breath after the hit. But there’s little question Boychuk’s hit was dangerous, whether it was intentional or not. With the Penguins and Islanders playing again on Saturday, we’ll see if Pittsburgh sends any retribution Boychuk’s way.
