If the Red Wings wanted to save face after a humiliating loss in Buffalo, they failed to find that second gear on Tuesday in Ottawa. Detroit couldn’t find any room to work offensively and its top players are struggling to produce right now.
To do so, the Red Wings will need to successfully battle a Rangers squad that’s gaining confidence despite two consecutive losses. Both losses to Winnipeg and St. Louis over the last few days were games in which New York’s effort was unquestioned. That confidence gives the Rangers the edge heading into their matchup with Detroit.
