NHL legend Wayne Gretzky is apparently a part of the plan to bring the Las Vegas Black Knights into the NHL.

Prospective owner Bill Foley dished on Gretzky’s role and what the Las Vegas team’s name would be.
The name “Black Knights” is just an unofficial preference of prospective Las Vegas owner Bill Foley, who sat down with Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman and spoke about a number of interesting details about his potential new team.
Foley told Friedman that he is “unofficially” working with NHL legend Wayne Gretzky to bring the Las Vegas team to life. Foley called Gretzky an “advisor” to the process. The two are apparently friends and have partnered to sell wine in North America.
When asked about what he would like to name his team, Foley revealed that the franchise would hold a “name the team” contest to decide the moniker. But Foley, an Army alum, specified he prefers the name “Black Knights” for the Las Vegas franchise.
Foley also confirmed his two-fold approach to ticket sales, as first reported by ESPN's Pierre LeBrun on Friday. He said he is committed to selling tickets according to league-average prices, but will also follow the Winnipeg Jets' model of requiring season ticket holders to make multi-year commitments when the team begins. However, Foley insisted the Las Vegas team would try to be flexible in allowing single-year commitments as well.
