That’s why when they visit the New York Islanders on Saturday evening, they could be facing yet another come-from-behind situation. While the Bolts returned Ondrej Palat and Radko Gudas to the lineup on Friday, it wasn’t enough to complete the comeback against the New Jersey Devils.
Tampa Bay has managed ably without starting goalie Ben Bishop, who is expected to miss the rest of the weekend with a lower-body injury. But their competition on the second half of a back-to-back road swing isn’t a pushover. The Islanders are second in the Eastern Conference after another win over the Detroit Red Wings on Friday.
Speaking of health, the mumps-infected Pittsburgh Penguins will take on the Florida Panthers at Consol Energy Center on Saturday night. Florida is on quite a roll that has them sniffing the playoff contention conversation.
