Teemu Selanne injury: Finland forward leaves game with upper body injury
Teemu Selanne had to leave Thursday’s game after one period with what is being called an upper body injury.

Finland's Teemu Selanne looked great in the first period against Austria on Thursday, and that's not much of a surprise. He always looks great on the ice, even at the age of 43.
He was creating chances, making plays, and constantly at the center of whatever was happening for Finland when he was on the ice. But his performance did not last long as he had to leave the game after the first period with what is initially being called an upper body injury.
Selanne was spotted on the bench late in the first period receiving some attention in his neck area and did not return to the game for the second period. He played just 5:27 before leaving, recording one assist.
Fortunately for Finland they were already in control of Thursday’s game when he left and his absence didn’t seem to hurt, but they’re going to need him when the competition gets tougher. According to a team spokesperson, he is expected to back on Friday.
