Michael Grabner scores 2 shorthanded goals on same penalty kill

No John Tavares, no problem for the Islanders. Michael Grabner will just score all of the goals. Shorthanded, too.

After scoring just nine goals in his first 56 games, Michael Grabner went to Sochi and scored five goals as a member of the Austrian Olympic hockey team.

In his first game back with the Islanders, he's picking right up where he left off by scoring two goals on the same penalty kill in the first period against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday night. Keep in mind that only 20 players in the NHL have two shorthanded goals all season. Grabner did it in less than a minute.

Here is the play that got it started.

And then the second one was a bit of a gift from Maple Leafs goalie Jonathan Bernier.
