When your team has a power play in the final minutes of the third period and is trying to tie the game, you probably don’t want to force your goalie to stop breakaways and odd-man rushes.
Eddie Lack makes two great saves on Darren Helm breakaway
Eddie Lack did everything he could to give his team a chance on Monday, including this crazy sequence against Darren Helm in the third period.

Unfortunately for Vancouver's Eddie Lack, that's what his teammates made him to do on Monday against the Red Wings.
Fortunately for the Canucks, he was more than up to the challenge, robbing Detroit's Darren Helm with this sequence of saves to at least give his team a fighting chance.
There was another save on Helm on a two-on-one rush thrown in there on the same penalty kill. The Canucks still went on to lose 2-0 after Justin Abdelkader added an empty net goal, his second goal of the game.
