The Phoenix Coyotes ended up with a full two-minute, two-man advantage late in the second period on Friday night following a skirmish around the net that began with their goalie, Mike Smith, getting plowed over.
Joel Quenneville will not calm down
Joel Quenneville is not happy and he will not sit down until you hear his complaints.
It didn’t take the Coyotes long to cash in thanks to Radim Vrbata’s 14th goal of the season.
As Vrbata let his shot go from the high slot, Coyotes forward Antoine Vermette lost his balance in front of the net and as he was falling, his stick came down and hit Blackhawks goalie Corey Crawford in the head. The puck went in, and Crawford immediately protested, presumably arguing that he was interfered with.
The goal still counted, and that sent Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville off the deep end.
No, he will not sit down.
