Jonathan Bernier had to leave Toronto's game in Los Angeles on Thursday night after playing just one period due to what the team is calling a "lower body injury."
Jonathan Bernier injury: Maple Leafs goalie leaves game with lower body injury
The Maple Leafs’ goalie faced just 10 shots before leaving with a lower body injury.

He will not return.
Bernier surrendered two goals in the first period on 10 shots and did not appear to suffer a noticeable injury. He was replaced by James Reimer.
Bernier, acquired by the Maple Leafs from the Kings this past offseason in exchange for Ben Scrivens and Matt Frattin, has appeared in 49 games this season and recorded a .926 save percentage to go with a 25-16-7 record. Even though Reimer was coming off of an outstanding season a year ago, and it seemed early on as if the two goalies might split the duties throughout the season, Bernier has taken over the No. 1 spot in Toronto as the season has progressed.
His save percentage entering play on Thursday was fifth in the NHL. Just as it was a season ago, goaltending has been a huge factor behind Toronto’s success.
