It's not very often that somebody gets the best of Milan Lucic physically, but Montreal's Alexei Emelin managed to do it on Monday night when he flipped Boston's massive power forward with this open-ice hip check.

The hip check is alive and well in Montreal.

That’s where things started to really get chaotic.
Just after the hit Boston's Zdeno Chara responded by challenging Emelin and taking a two-minute for roughing. A few minutes later Montreal's Travis Moen got into a fight with Kevan Miller he had cross-checked Dale Weise. Moen ended up taking the worst of it and needed help getting off the ice after taking a heavy punch to the side of the head.
Emelin scored on the ensuing power play to give the Canadiens an early 1-0 lead as they attempt to end Boston's 12-game winning streak.
