The Detroit Red Wings may have finally received some positive injury news for a change on Monday night, as it seems that injured forward Pavel Datsyuk could be getting closer to a return.
Pavel Datsyuk injury: Red Wings forward says he started skating, hopes to play soon
The Red Wings might be getting some extra firepower for their playoff push.

Dear All, I started skating. Hoping to play soon. Thanks for your support!
— Pavel Datsyuk (@Datsyuk13) March 25, 2014 Datsyuk has been sidelined off-and-on this season due to a lower body injury and has appeared in just four games since Jan. 1. He last played for Detroit back on Feb. 27 and was shut down by the team for a few weeks not long after that game.
The Red Wings have been absolutely decimated by injuries this season and currently playing without Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg, their top two forwards.
In 39 games this season Datsyuk has 15 goals to go with 18 assists.
Despite their injury woes the Red Wings are still in contention for a playoff spot and entered Monday in the first Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference with 80 points. Detroit has made the playoffs 22 years in a row -- as well 25 of the previous 26 seasons -- and if its able to keep that streak going it's going to be a well earned trip given the injuries the team has sustained this season.
