The New Jersey Devils had a rare offensive explosion on Monday night, scoring six goals in a game for just the third time this season. Leading the way was forward Travis Zajac, who recorded his first career hat trick in his 544th NHL game.

Where has this offense been for the Devils all season?

The third goal took a little bit of effort and determination. He stuck with the puck and found a way to put it in behind Florida goalie Dan Ellis even though Zajac had both of his feet below the goal line.
The Devils needed Zajac's offense on Monday as starting goalie Martin Brodeur had to be lifted just six minutes into the second period after giving up three goals on just nine shots.
