The Pittsburgh Penguins haven't been satisfied with the play of their third line this season, and to fix it, they've acquired one of the NHL's most underrated defensive centers in Marcel Goc, in exchange for two draft picks; a third round pick, and a 5th round draft pick.
Marcel Goc trade: Penguins trade 2 picks for veteran center
The Penguins have been desperately looking to upgrade their third line all season, and they’ve done so with Goc.

The price was fairly low for Goc, a 30 year old German and 8 year NHL veteran, and consistent 30+ point per season player.
Goc plays the toughest minutes of any player on the Florida Panthers, facing the highest quality of competition, and starting just 42.5% of his non-neutral zone faceoffs in the offensive zone, yet has a stellar 52.8% Corsi this season.
Goc is also a faceoff ace, regularly among the league’s leaders, which works well with taking the majority of his faceoffs in the defensive zone, allowing his teammates to clear the zone before there’s any danger of a scoring chance against.
This trade puts Brandon Sutter temporarily out of a job, unless the Penguins want to play him on the fourth line.
