Kyle Palmieri thought he scored. The referees thought he scored. The people that run the spotlights, goal light, and goal horn in Anaheim thought he scored. Heck, even Montreal Canadiens goalie Dustin Tokarski thought Palmieri scored.
Magic puck stays out of net on Kyle Palmieri shootout attempt
Kyle Palmieri couldn’t have possibly come any closer to scoring on his shootout attempt on Wednesday night.

But due to some invisible force field along the goal line Palmieri’s shootout attempt on Wednesday stayed out of the net after hitting both posts and bouncing along the goal line.
The best part? A frustrated Tokarski, assuming he had just given up the goal that would put his team down in the shootout, casually knocked the puck off the line thinking it had already gone in.
It hadn’t, and after a lengthy review the correct call was made.
Montreal went on to win the game two rounds later thanks to a goal by Andrei Markov.
