Getting Martin St. Louis for the expiring contract of Ryan Callahan and two draft picks was a major score for the New York Rangers on trade deadline day, and it started to pay off in a big way on Friday night.
Martin St. Louis sets up game-winning goal for Rangers
Martin St. Louis’ first point with the New York Rangers was a big one.

St. Louis was outstanding in New York's 4-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes, recording his first point with the Rangers late in the third period. And it couldn't have come at a better time as he set up Derek Stepan for the go-ahead goal with this slick pass on a five-on-three power play.
Considering how weak the Eastern Conference is and that the Rangers have been playing some of their best hockey of the season since December, the addition of a talent like that could have a huge impact on the playoff picture.
