For most of the first two periods on Wednesday night Gustav Nyquist was having a difficult time getting away from Boston Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara.
Gustav Nyquist blows past Zdeno Chara
When the Red Wings need a big goal, they just give the puck to Gustav Nyquist.

But with the game on the line midway through the third period, Nyquist picked up the puck at top speed and blew past Chara, one of the NHL's best defenders, scoring the go-ahead goal to give the Red Wings a 3-2 lead in what was an enormous game for their playoff chances.
Not many people are able to do that to Chara. And with that, the legend of Nyquist continues to grow.
That was his 28th goal of the season, putting him into the top-20 league wide, in just his 51st game. Twenty-three of those goals have come in just the past 28 games.
If the Red Wings end up making the playoffs despite missing Pavel Datsyuk, Henrik Zetterberg and Johan Franzen for most of the of the season he is going to be perhaps the biggest reason why.
