When you’re a team that has lost eight of your last nine games and is in danger of letting your entire season slip away with an historic late-season collapse, you probably don’t want to be losing your third-leading goal-scorer before a huge game in the playoff race.
Joffrey Lupul injury: Maple Leafs winger out with lower body injury
The Toronto Maple Leafs need two points against the Boston Bruins, and they are going to have to get them without Joffrey Lupul.

Unfortunately for the Toronto Maple Leafs, that is exactly what happened to them less than an hour before their game against the Boston Bruins on Thursday night when it was announced by the team that forward Joffrey Lupul will be out of the lineup with a lower body injury.
Injuries have been a constant problem for Lupul throughout his career as he’s appeared in more than 70 games just four times in his 10 years. Before Thursday he had already missed 11 games for the Maple Leafs this season.
It's not yet known when Lupul suffered the injury, but he played over 18 minutes in their 3-2 win over the Calgary Flames on Tuesday.
He has 22 goals and 22 assists in 68 games this season.
