Ottawa and Montreal played a pretty ridiculous first period on Friday night that saw the Senators jump out to a three-goal lead, the Canadiens score three straight goals to tie it, and reigning Norris Trophy winner P.K. Subban spend the final 15 minutes of the period glued to the bench.
Bogus interference call robs Senators of goal
Want to prevent the other team from scoring a goal? Just plow over your own goalie when it looks like the other team has a scoring chance.

The chaos continued over to the second period with Lars Eller scoring a go-ahead goal for the Canadiens to give them their first lead of the night. Just seconds later off of the ensuing faceoff, Ottawa's Chris Neil appeared to tie the game right back up.
There was just one problem from the Senators' perspective: Chris Neil's goal was disallowed because of coincidental contact with Canadiens goalie Carey Price.
As this GIF -- via @PeteBlackburn -- shows that is probably a pretty bogus call.
The only contact with Budaj comes from Canadiens defenseman Mike Weaver who simply gets outmuscled on the way to the net and falls into his goaltender. The Senators and coach Paul MacLean were livid with the call, and for good reason.
