Do the Canadiens have a chance with Dustin Tokarski? Yes
The Montreal Canadiens are still in it. Thanks to their 3-2 overtime win in Game 3, the Canadiens are on the board in the Eastern Conference Final and they owe it almost entirely to the play of goaltender Dustin Tokarski. He was sensational on Thursday stopping 35 of the 37 shots he faced, and one of the goals he surrendered was a fluke bounce off the skate of Alexei Emelin (pictured), the second time in two games he's given up a goal that bounced in off a teammate. He isn't Carey Price, but in a short series he should still be able to give them a fighting chance. -
Alex Galchenyuk uses his head
If you want to score goals in the NHL sometimes you have to go the net. Sometimes when you go to the net the puck hits you in the face. And if you're really lucky, sometimes the puck will hit your face and end up in the back of the net for an overtime winner. That's what happened to Alex Galchenyuk on Thursday when a rebound off the pads of Henrik Lundqvist bounced up and smacked the Canadiens' forward right in the face. It was a pretty weird game overall and this was perhaps the most fitting ending. -
Daniel Carcillo does something dumb
This is why you can't trust Daniel Carcillo in a playoff game. You never know when he's going to do something dumb and put your team shorthanded. On Thursday, he was ejected after playing just 1:45 when he got into it with a linesman after he was held back from fighting Montreal Canadiens forward Brandon Prust (earlier in the game Prust leveled Rangers forward Derek Stepan with a late hit). That little tantrum gave the Rangers, who were already playing without Derick Brassard, play the remainder of the game with just 11 forwards. Not smart.
