Rangers vs. Canadiens, Game 5: Derek Stepan scores in return to lineup

Derek Stepan is back, and he’s already scoring for the Rangers.

It didn't take New York Rangers forward Derek Stepan very long to make a noticeable impact during his return to the lineup.

After sitting out Game 4 due to a broken jaw that he suffered on a late hit from Brandon Prust, Stepan scored just 10 minutes into his return in Game 5 on his first shot. The goal tied the game just minutes after Dustin Tokarski made one of the most improbable saves of the postseason on Carl Hagelin.

When looking at this replay angle (GIF via @MyRegularFace) it appears that Stepan, while sporting a massive facemask on his helmet to protect his jaw, threw a bit of a sinker at Tokarski. Watch as the bottom falls out of the puck on its way to the net.
