Frustration seemed to take over for the New York Rangers late in the third period of their 7-4 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night, and it led to some pretty dumb moments that could cost them a player or two for Game 6 on Thursday night.
Did Derek Dorsett headbutt Mike Weaver?
It sure looks like he did, and the NHL probably isn’t going to like that.
First, there was John Moore getting ejected for elbowing Dale Weise midway through the third period.
As if that wasn't enough, Derek Dorsett was getting into it with Canadiens defenseman Mike Weaver in front of the net later in the period and upped the ante with what appeared to be a headbutt (via @MyRegularFace).
There was no penalty called, but the NHL is sure to take a look at that on Wednesday. Not a terribly smart move.
