Alex Kovalev shows off 1994 Stanley Cup gear during Game 6

Alex Kovalev was in the house on Thursday night and he busted out some of his old Stanley Cup gear.

On Thursday night the New York Rangers were trying to clinch their first trip to the Stanley Cup Final since they won it back in 1994, and a member of that championship team was in the house for Game 6 against the Montreal Canadiens.

During the first period the Madison Square Garden cameras caught a quick glimpse of former Rangers forward Alex Kovalev in the stands wearing an old school Rangers hurt. He then unzipped his jacket to unveil his 1994 Stanley Cup champion T-shirt, because Alex Kovalev is awesome.

This was the scene, via Rich Chere of the Star-Ledger.

Kovalev was a second-year player for the Rangers in '94 and was their third-leading scorer in the playoffs, finishing with 21 points in 23 games including four goals in the Final against the Vancouver Canucks.

He also spent five (very productive) years of his career with the Canadiens.
