Brian Boyle gives Rangers the lead with incredible shorthanded goal
Brian Boyle has probably never scored a prettier goal than this in the NHL. And he picked a great time to do it, giving his team a 2-1 lead late in the second period of Game 5.

The New York Rangers special teams came through in a big way in the second period in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final on Friday night.
Brian Boyle gave them a 2-1 lead with less than a minute to play in the period. He beat Kings goalie Jonathan Quick with a perfectly placed shot in the top corner of the net after a wonderful individual effort at the blue line to gain entry into the zone around Drew Doughty.
That goal was not only Boyle’s third of the playoffs, but also probably one of the best-looking goals he’s ever scored in the NHL.
It also came just minutes after Chris Kreider scored a game-tying goal on the power play, re-directing a perfect pass from Ryan McDonagh.
