Sidney Crosby won the Hart Trophy for the second time in his career as he finished with 128 of the 137 first-place votes. Nathan MacKinnon claimed the Calder Trophy as the top rookie while Duncan Keith took home the Norris Trophy as the best defenseman.

Doug PensingerNathan MacKinnon deserved the Calder Trophy, and the 2014 NHL Awards show gave him sweet justice. The Colorado Avalanche rookie scored 10 points in seven playoff games, and that part wasn’t even considered in the voting.
The 18-year-old absolutely dominated the voting, crushing Ondrej Palat and Tyler Johnson of the Tampa Bay Lightning with 130 of the 137 first-place votes. Inexplicably, Torey Krug of the Boston Bruins and Jacob Trouba of the Winnipeg Jets got first-place votes. No disrespect to those guys, but ... really?

Bruce BennettThe 2014 Frank J. Selke Trophy, awarded annually to the NHL’s top defensive forward, will go to Patrice Bergeron of the Boston Bruins.
Bergeron was the winner in 2012, and he finished second in 2013. This year, he beat out Jonathan Toews of the Chicago Blackhawks and Anze Kopitar of the Los Angeles Kings for the honor.
